Discount Calculator
Work out sale prices and how much you're saving.
You're paying 75% of the original price
How to use it
- 1Enter the original price and choose your currency.
- 2Enter the discount percentage, and an extra discount too if it stacks with the first.
- 3Read the final price, total savings, effective discount rate, and the bar showing what share of the price remains.
Example
An $80 item with a 25% discount: the savings are $80 × 25% = $20, so the final price is $80 − $20 = $60. Stack an extra 10% off on top and the final price drops to $54 — a 32.5% effective discount, not the 35% you'd get by just adding the two percentages together.
How it works
The savings amount is the original price multiplied by the discount percentage: price × (discount ÷ 100). The final price is simply the original price minus that savings amount. If you add an extra discount, it's applied to the already-discounted price rather than the original — that's why stacked discounts multiply instead of adding, and the “effective discount” figure shows the true combined rate against your original price.
